As a resident of Hoboken for over 40 years, I’ve seen the good and the bad, and know what it takes to effectively lead our city. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Mayor Ravi Bhalla for re-election and the entire Team Bhalla council slate of Emily Jabbour, Jim Doyle, and Joe Quintero.

Beginning with former Mayor Dawn Zimmer and continuing with Mayor Bhalla, Hoboken has invested an unprecedented amount of funding for resiliency efforts and green space, that will benefit our City for generations to come. I supported then Mayor Zimmer, and subsequently endorsed Mayor Bhalla four years ago because of his commitment to creating a stronger, more resilient City, and I have not been disappointed. His administration, with the support of his Council team, has moved forward with numerous park projects that will be combined with flood mitigation, preserved Union Dry Dock to complete a contiguous open waterfront, invested in new water mains, and advanced our critical $230 million Rebuild By Design flood-protection project.

Jim Doyle and Emily Jabbour have been right alongside Mayor Bhalla in these efforts and have advanced our “green” efforts even further from the resiliency parks at 7th & Jackson, the newly expanded Southwest Resiliency Park, and the Northwest Resiliency Park that will become New Jersey’s largest resiliency park with flood detention. Without the advocacy of Councilpersons Doyle and Jabbour, it’s very possible we would not see these projects come to a reality. We could not ask for better climate change advocates than these two.

And I know Joe Quintero will be just as supportive. Over the past two years, I’ve worked closely with Joe helping to get candidates elected at the Federal and State level who also prioritize addressing climate change. I saw firsthand his dedication, hard work, and commitment and know he will bring those skills to the City Council. He also recognizes that those who are hardest hit from climate change in Hoboken are those that live in the Hoboken Housing Authority on the western end of the City, and will be a strong advocate for all communities that have felt like they have not had a voice.

Team Bhalla is my choice because they’re adults in the room, know how to get stuff done, and are taking, and will continue to take real action to create a more resilient City.

Please vote for Ravi Bhalla, Jim Doyle (5-H), Joe Quintero (6-H), and Emily Jabbour (7-H) by November 2nd. And don’t forget you can now vote early at City Hall through October 31!
